Munro College

Munro College was founded in 1856, as a free school for boy of low-income families in the Parish of St. Elizabeth, as stipulated in the will of the plantation owners Robert Hugh Munro and Caleb Dickerson. It is one of the most prominent high schools in Jamaica and currently the only boys boarding school on the Island. Munro College has won the Rural Area Da Costa Cup.

Trophy seven times (1950-52,1957,1960-61 and 1964) and Olivier Shield over nineteen times dating back to 1911, two years after the competition was first held.

Roy “Uppa” Thompson

Munro College Masters

Roy “Uppa” Thompson, represented Munro College from the U12 through Dacosta Cup level between 1994 and 2001. Helping Munro to win numerous trophies at the U12 and U16 levels.

"Uppa" was also an a very important member of the losing 2001 Dacosta Cup Finalist team at Munro. He was granted a soccer scholarship and migrated to the USA, where he represented East Stroudsburg University of PA in NCAA Div 2 and PSAC.

Full soccer scholarship to play for East Stroudsburg University of PA (2002-2006)
