Clarendon College
On February 02, 1942 Rev. Lester Davy founded Clarendon College in the hills of Chapelton, Clarendon to address an educational need for the children of the district’s farmers.
The school which started at Rose Bank with two teachers and ten students was eventually relocated to its present location at Tavanore.
Clarendon College is the oldest and largest secondary education institution in Clarendon, catering to over 1900 students. The school offers a comprehensive curriculum spanning Arts, Business, and Science. The Institution also offers an evening school program and a wide array of co-curricular activities.
Football History
Clarendon College has 19 schoolboy titles, 9 Dacosta Cup, 4 Ben Francis Cup, 5 Olivier Shield and 1 Champions Cup. The most famous footballer is Lenworth Hyde, he won titles both as a player and as a coach. He’s one of Jamaica’s finest footballers; Some other notable players are Linval Dixon, Christopher Dawes, Andre Blake, and Lamar Walker to name a few.
The school motto is "Perstare et Praestare" which means persevere and excel."

Cleon “Nochie” Hibbert
Clarendon College
Cleon "Nochie" Hibbert attended Clarendon College from February 1990 -1993.
He was a member of their DaCosta Cup championship team in 1991.
Hibbert was a member of Clarendon College’s DaCosta Cup teams in 1991-1992 and also played on the Jamaica U- 20 Juvenile team.
As one of the regular teams in the alumni festival, they are yet to make it to the summit and are hoping that this year, they will be the last team standing, come Sunday evening
