Ardenne High School

Ardenne was founded in 1929 by American Church of God missionaries, George & Nellie Olson at High Holborn Street with an enrollment of 5 students. Ardenne moved to its current location at 10 Ardenne Road, Kingston 10, in 1929 when this property was acquired with a grant.

Ardenne High school is dedicated to developing the total individual mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually. The school strong Christian values and roles is epitomized by our motto: Deo Duce Quaere Optima – (With God as Guide, Seek the Best).

Throughout the last 75 years, Ardenne High school have been recognized as one of the top Academic institutions in Jamaica by preparing its students to becoming responsible and productive members of society by contributing to our growth as human being. Academic achievement and success are too numerous to list.

In the sport arena, Ardenne High school is known for Basketball, Volleyball and Netball where we have field quite a few championships winning team over the years. Ardenne was beaten by Camperdown High School in the Manning Cup finals in 1979 they finally won the Manning Cup and Oliver Shield in 1991.

Carlton Whyte

Carlton Whyte represented Ardenne High in school boy football at every level during his tenure:
Pepsi (U-13) competition 1979
Colts (U-15) competition 1980 & 81
Manning Cup (U-19) competition 1982-1985

Carlton was one of the top goal scorers in the 1985 corporate school boy Manning & Walker Cup competitions. He also represented Patrick City in the D & G sponsor Minor League competitions in 1981 & 1982, before joining Swallowfield FC in 1985 were he represented them in the KASFA Major league competitions until 1988.

Represented JCTC in business house football from 1988 to 1991, before migrating to USA on a soccer scholarship in 1991. Attended Essex County Community College for 2 years, before transferring to Bloomfield College in 1993. Won the GSAC region 19 tournament with Essex in 1992 & NAIA region 19 tournament with Bloomfield in 1993. Our team lost in the national championship both seasons, but our 1993 team were award the NAIA team sportsmanship award.

Graduated Cum Laude from both Essex County College (AAS) 1993 & Bloomfield College (BSc) 1995.

Carlton represented Arantes FC in the Bronx league from 1991 to 2002.
